Transforming Sanitation In Madagascar

Waterless, hygienic, circular economy sanitation systems for communities and companies in Madagascar; because everyone deserves to flush with happiness.

The Sanitation Problem In Madagascar

Madagascar faces a severe sanitation crisis, that damages health, especially among children. With four out of five people lacking basic sanitation, diseases like cholera, dysentery, and typhoid are prevalent, with diarrhea being a leading cause of death in children and babies.

The lack of facilities forces many into open defecation, polluting urban areas and water sources, especially during the rainy season. This highlights the urgent need for sanitation solutions that are resilient to environmental challenges.

In the overcrowded capital, Antananarivo, population growth has worsened sanitation shortages, with up to five families sharing a single toilet in low-income areas. Rising construction costs and limited urban space further hinder families from building private toilets, demonstrating a clear need for affordable, space-efficient solutions.

Poor sanitation also reduces workplace productivity. Investing in clean facilities can boost employee well-being, creating healthier, more productive environments essential for a thriving community and economy. Addressing Madagascar's sanitation crisis is key to promoting health, resilience, and productivity.

Partnering for change

What makes Loowatt MG unique?

  • Our patented waterless flush toilet hermetically seals waste in a lining material and transfers it to a container below the floor, locking away germs and odour and providing clean bowl for every use.

  • No water and no chemicals! Even compared to low-flush toilets, Loowatt can save homes more than 900L of water every month.

  • No exposure to waste, no waste building up around your home, and no faecal plume from misting flush water - all thanks to our unique sealing technology.

  • Servicing our toilets takes just a few moments and is a clean, easy job for servicers, with no heavy trucks or bad smells.

  • GasyGrow captures the full potential of the circular economy by transforming human waste into high-quality, 100% natural liquid fertilisers that fuel sustainable agriculture, using anaerobic digester.

This fresh approach closes the waste management loop, turning what was once a problem into a vital resource for farmers.

With affordable, eco-friendly alternatives to chemical fertilisers, GasyGrow boosts soil health, improves crop yields and supports climate-resilient farming practices.

This creates value at all stages of the cycle.

  • Our toilet is bringing serenity and peace of mind to each of our users.

Some customers say that they even take time to read magazines or play with their phones when they are inside.
